STUDENT MOTIVATION IN SOCIAL STUDIES CLASS: AN EXPECTANCY-VALUE APPROACH

چکیده

Etkili sosyal bilgiler öğretimi için motivasyonun öğrenme ve başarı üzerindeki rolünün farkında olma, öğrencilerin öğrenmeye motive edilmesi derse yönelik motivasyonlarının sürdürülmesi açısından oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Bu çalışmada, dersine öğrenci motivasyonu beklenti-değer motivasyon modeli temel alınarak incelenmiştir. Çalışmada alanyazın taramasından yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, motivasyonunun istenen düzeyde olmadığı, bunda uygulanan sınav politikası, öğretime ayrılan kısıtlı zamanın etkilerinin görüldüğü geleneksel öğretim uygulamaları düşünme süreçlerini kullanma yerine ezber yoluna giderek öğrenmenin zorlaşması gibi faktörlerin rol oynayabileceği görülmüştür.
